Teether use in infants

Our most valuable asset is our children. We are happy to witness their growth by being there all the time from birth to adulthood. Perhaps the most painful period when babies grow up is teething. Dentist and Orthodontic Specialist Burak Büyüktürk shares his knowledge about how to go through this troubled process.

When should teether be used in infants?

Babies start to remove the incisors around 6-7 months, usually the lower incisors. But individual differences are quite large. For example; As it is the baby who took out his first tooth for about 4 months, this can sometimes occur in the 9th or 15th month. Even if it is rarely encountered, milk teeth can be seen in the mouth when the baby is born. At the age of 2.5-3 years, a total of 20 milk teeth, 10 of which are in the upper jaw and 10 in the lower jaw, are applied in the mouth. Itching, mild redness, increased saliva, mild fever and diarrhea are the symptoms that appear before the teeth begin to come out. Apart from these symptoms, you will witness that your baby often takes his hand to his mouth. The reason he takes his hand to his mouth is because he wants to scratch and relax the tooth area. If you observe these symptoms that you count in your baby and the average milk cutters are 6-7 months old, you can increase their comfort by buying a teether.
